The Catholic University Board of Trustees recently added five new alumni members: John Carvelli, B.A. 1984; Rashaun Martin, B.A. 2001, former president of the Catholic University Alumni Association; Julie McGurn, P ’25; Vice Admiral (retired) Mel Williams Jr., M.S. 1984, former associate dean in the School of Engineering; His Excellency Bishop Robert Barron, Ph.B. 1981, M.A. 1982, bishop of the Diocese of Winona–Rochester in Minnesota.

The University has bested its half-billion dollar fundraising goal for Light the Way: The Campaign for Catholic University, raising $518,544,740. More than 300 donors and University friends attended the Campaign close celebration. Over the Campaign’s eight years, 28,654 donors contributed to its success.
