Payroll deduction

Catholic University employees can use the Faculty/Staff Payroll Deduction Form to give automatically each pay period.

Personal property

To discuss making a gift of personal property (other than real estate) such as books and manuscripts, art, musical instruments, computer hardware and software, furniture, and laboratory equipment to Catholic University, please contact the Division of University Advancement at 202-319-6910.


Potential gifts of personal property will be evaluated by appropriate officers of the University who may approve accepting gifts that help advance the University's mission. The University reserves the right to decline proposed gifts of personal property at its discretion.


IRS Form 8283. If you wish to claim a charitable contribution tax deduction for your donation of personal property, we encourage you to speak with a professional tax advisor. You may be required to file IRS Form 8283, Noncash Charitable Contributions with your federal income tax return. Depending on the amount of the deduction being claimed, completing Form 8283 may require you to obtain a written appraisal of the donated property from a qualified appraiser. To request the University complete and sign the Donee Acknowledgement section of a Form 8283, please submit your Form 8283 to adv-giftrecords@cua.edu.

Real estate

Make a gift of a principal residence, vacation home, rental property, commercial building, or a lot or land. The gift may be the entire property or a fractional interest in the property. Please call 202-319-6910. All gifts of real estate require prior approval by Catholic University.

Planned Giving

In addition to these outright gift options, you may make a planned gift, which benefits you now and provides future support for Catholic University.
