On Friday, September 20, Richard Weible, B.A. 1976, was formally inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame during Cardinal Weekend 2024.
About Richard Weible
A Catholic University men’s soccer leader during the 1970s under Hall of Fame Coach Turk Emekli, Richard Weible was a four-year starter who proved to be the epitome of versatility. Playing multiple positions in whatever role was needed, Weible, a 1976 graduate, was a two-time, All-South Region selection for Emekli’s Cardinals. He was also a two-time captain and was voted the team’s MVP in 1975. Weible was a first-team selection in the Mason Dixon Conference in 1974 and 1975, while also earning one of Catholic University’s most prestigious accolades, as he was named the winner of the Harris Cup in 1976.
