On Friday, September 20, Christine (Thornton) Corrigan, B.A. 2005, was formally inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame during Cardinal Weekend 2024.
About Christine (Thornton) Corrigan
A true pioneer for Catholic University’s women’s lacrosse, Christine (Thornton) Corrigan, a 2005 graduate and the recipient of the Director’s Award her senior year, was the first-ever All-American in program history. A two-time, All-Capital Athletic selection, Corrigan was an IWLCA Third-Team All-American in 2005, a year that remains one of the top individual defensive seasons in program history. That 2005 season saw Catholic University earn its way into the IWLCA Top 20 for the first time ever, with Corrigan as team captain. Corrigan remains the program’s all-time leader in ground balls (272) and caused turnovers (146). Her career-high for caused turnovers of 47 is still the second-most in a season by a Catholic University player.
