On Friday, October 17, during the Busch School of Business Reception at Cardinal Weekend 2025, Patrick, B.A. 2016, and Christa Narus announced the Narus Family Sales Lab and corresponding Narus Match.
The lab will be a home to the Busch School’s Sales Program, where students can practice their sales skills and utilize the most advanced technology. The Narus Match supports the Sales Program and will double every gift up to $50,000 through April 30, 2026, and then continue to provide a $50,000 match for gifts to the Sales Program each year for the following three years.
Pat Narus, who serves on the Board of Visitors at the Busch School of Business, is an avid advocate for the Sales Program, alongside his wife, Christa. As an alumnus himself, he often shares his insight and expertise as a guest lecturer and mentor of students within the Sales Program. The match gives supporters the opportunity to join in the mission of the Busch School and help educate students to compete ethically in the world of selling.
“Being in the first [Sales Program] class ever… I was a grateful recipient of that education. The experience was transformational in my personal and professional life,” Pat shared. After a conversation with Dean Abela and some reflection as a couple, Christa and Pat asked themselves: How do we glorify the Kingdom? How can we say thank you for the blessings we received? How do we help others? “There was no other option. The Sales Program at the Busch School checked all those boxes.”
Celebrating the Narus Match at Cardinal Weekend
The lab and match were announced at the school’s reception during Cardinal Weekend, Catholic University’s annual homecoming and reunion event. Busch School alumni and friends gathered in Maloney Hall to reconnect with professors, catch up with classmates, and peruse the showcase featuring alumni-owned businesses.
The Sales Program at Catholic University’s Busch School of Business is uniquely designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge necessary for success in the dynamic field of sales. The program blends theoretical coursework and practical experiences, giving students insights into consumer behavior, ethical negotiation strategies, and effective communication techniques. Sales students graduate as well-formed individuals who rise quickly into leadership positions because of their ethics training.
“The Sales Program really is an example of what we try to do. It’s the development of one's soul, not just one's intellect,” Dean Abela remarked during the reception. “A young couple with two little children, committing to this big gift is an act of courage, not just generosity. I want to applaud them again for their courage in doing this.”
