The Parents Council is a group of highly engaged parents who are dedicated to the mission of The Catholic University of America and seek to expand the opportunities available for today’s students. These parent-leaders make a meaningful, direct impact on undergraduate student life.
The Parents Council Mission
Catholic University and the Parents Council share a common goal: to build and sustain an environment of academic excellence, giving every student unfettered access to career guidance and support while providing extraordinary opportunities for research experience and personal growth — ultimately, building their potential to serve Church, nation, and world.
Who Can Join the Parents Council?
The Parents Council is open to all interested parents of current Catholic University undergraduate students. Council members hail from numerous cities and states nationwide.
Each member or parent-couple demonstrates exceptional leadership with an annually renewable contribution to Catholic University of at least $5,000. Make your gift now!
Parents Council Responsibilities
Parents Council members are among our most important ambassadors, representing Catholic University through a variety of community and family outreach activities and special events. Council responsibilities include:
- Become a member with an annual $5,000 gift
- Attend Parents Council meetings (fall and spring) and events
- Host parent events and welcome receptions in your local area
- Welcome new families to the community and mentor new and current parents
- Foster relationships with current and prospective parents
- Facilitate career development for students through internships and placements
- Identify and recruit parents to join the Parents Council
